In 2020, Yemen faced a catastrophic health situation, lacking the most basic medical, treatment, and preventive capacities to confront the COVID-19 pandemic or other potential epidemics. The ongoing conflict, widespread poverty, limited awareness, and the high cost of protective supplies further worsened the crisis. In response, the Al-Islah Society – Bahrain funded the COVID-19 Prevention Project, implemented by the Yemeni Network for Development (YDN). The project included: Supporting a mask production workshop, Equipping and supplying a quarantine center for displaced people with medical and protective materials, Training courses for healthcare workers, and Distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce the spread of the virus and protect vulnerable communities.
