Yemeni Development Network for NGOs (YDN) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization established under license No. (54/163) from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor on 23/8/2003; it’s headquartered office in the capital city of Sana’a with spread branches at Yemeni governorates.

YDN has 426 members of NGOs in all Yemeni governorates with different sectors which aims to strengthen and enhance coordination and networking for relief and development fields in Yemen.

The substantial purpose for establishing YDN was a common conviction of the indispensable need for the establishment of a specialized entity responsible for building the capacities of local organizations to ensure their active participation and good practice of their roles.

In 2014, YDN was obliged to utilize its accumulated experiences and sophisticated resources to respond to the devastating humanitarian situation developing as a result of the ongoing conflict. This was interpreted in the provision of live-saving services through the implementation of various humanitarian projects in the most affected areas optimally by including local communities in decision-making and reflecting their opinions, as possible, in the interventions.

In addition to the persistent advocacy toward cardinal issues, and involving emerging NGOs in the implementation of the humanitarian interventions to help build their capacities in a way that doesn’t affect the substantial goal.
